Music Performances - December 2021

Christmas Virtual Concerts

Published 14th January 2022

It has been a fantastic first week of term for the Music Department, riding off the amazing achievements of all our musicians in our Virtual Christmas Concert and Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols.

We were particularly thrilled with the feedback we received from the composers of our SATB choral repertoire. Will Todd's stunning carol, My Lord Has Come was sung so sensitively by our choristers, and on seeing our performance, the composer responded to congratulate us on 'a beautiful performance'.

It was especially exciting to perform the world premiere of Bernard Trafford's The Lute-Book Lullaby. Bernard wrote to say he felt privileged to have it performed so beautifully.

He went on to say, 'I'm not sure anyone or any choir has ever sung something I've written with such care, attention to detail and love'.

We pass on our thanks to him once more for giving us the opportunity to perform it for the first time.
