Day and Flexible Boarding Prices at Queen Margaret's

  • Day and Flexi Boarders may arrive at school after 07:30 and depart up to 19:30 on full school days; there is no charge for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
  • A Flexi Boarder can stay in school as and when needed and the number of nights is not restricted by those included in the fee. Nights stayed need not be on a fixed night or number of nights each week. Similarly, a Day girl can stay as and when needed subject to there being available accommodation.
  • The Flexible Boarding fees include an average of one, two or three overnight stays per term week; these nights can be aggregated over a term to enable a girl to stay as and when needed.
  • All Flexible Boarding fee options include two additional nights each term for a girl to stay in school at the start of term. Day girls are also welcome to stay, subject to there being available accommodation, and will be charged at the additional overnight stay rate.
  • All Saturday nights will be charged at the full additional overnight stay rate and are not included in the core fee.
  • Overnight stays not utilised in a term cannot be carried forward to another term and will not be refunded.
  • Terms can be of different lengths and hence the number of nights included in each fee will vary term by term.
  • All additional nights in excess of those included in the fee are charged at the full additional overnight stay rate.
  • Flexi Boarders have an allocated bed and dorm. This may not be the case for Day girls.

Weekly Boarding Prices at Queen Margaret's

  • Weekly Boarders can stay in school as many nights as required from Sunday night to Friday night (inclusive).
  • All Saturday nights stayed will be charged at the full additional overnight stay rate and are not included in the core fee. However, Weekly Boarders who stay on 3 or more Saturday nights in any term will, instead, be charged the difference between the Weekly and Full Boarding fees.
  • Weekly Boarders have an allocated bed and dorm.

Full Boarding Prices at Queen Margaret's

For non-UK/EEA students at QM, we have made our full boarding fee as all encompassing as possible. The non-UK/EEA full boarding fee includes EAL (English as an Additional Language) support, routine weekend activities and the services of a counsellor to support our overseas girls both pastorally and academically. This brings clarity and avoids individual charges for various provisions.

Extra Subjects/Activities

Extra activities include lessons such as Music, Dance, Tennis, Horse Riding, and Personal Training, and LAMDA performance examinations. Charges for these additional subjects and activities apply. Further activities may be offered from time to time where costs will be dependent on the number of girls taking part. You can learn more about Queen Margaret's extra subjects and activities here and costs are detailed in our Fees brochure below.

Independent School Fee Remissions

Our aim is to encourage applications from candidates with as diverse a range of backgrounds as possible, as this enriches our community and is vital in preparing our girls for today’s world.

Means-tested bursaries are therefore offered to allow as many girls as possible, who meet our admission criteria, to attend QM.

Further information about means-tested bursaries is available in the first instance from our Admissions Team via admissions@queenmargarets.com.

The Small Print

  • Fees are due in cleared funds before the start of each term.
  • Unpaid fees may be subject to an interest charge of, currently, 6% above base rate.
  • A full term’s notice in writing to the Head is required if a girl is to be withdrawn from the school; if notice is not received a term’s fees in lieu of notice will be charged.
  • If you wish your daughter’s place to change to a fee in a lower tier, notice is required in writing to the Head before the end of the Half Term of the Summer Term preceding the start of the school year for which you wish the change to take place. If notice is not received then fees will be charged at the higher tier for the full year.
  • Changes to a fee in a higher tier will take effect from the start of the next term.

Scholarships and Bursaries

We support all girls in their individual gifts and talents. We endeavour to help each girl to discover her passion and unlock her potential.

After QM I graduated from Loughborough University and now work at a prestigious advertising agency. I wouldn’t be in the same position had I not received a bursary to attend QM and, for this, I am forever grateful.
