The Weekly Window - Friday 23rd May 2025
Friday 23rd May 2025
This week: Hands-On Science, LAMDA Results, Community Weekend, and more.

23rd May 2025
Welcome to the Weekly Window! As we reach the end of a vibrant half term at QM, this week’s edition brings a mix of academic achievement, hands-on learning, and community spirit. From excellent LAMDA results and a memorable digestion experiment in Science, to the sunshine-filled Community Weekend and netball sports tour, there’s plenty to celebrate.
Have a great holiday!
Update from the Head

Another busy and productive half term has flown by at QM. Whilst the focus has been on exams for many, both external and internal, there have been plenty of other highlights. We have certainly been enjoying a glorious spell of summer weather which has encouraged girls outdoors, enjoying tennis, rounders, athletics and even the outdoor pool. I am keeping my fingers crossed that this lasts into next week.
Wishing you all a wonderful May half term holiday.
A Sticky Science Lesson

Year II got stuck into the science of digestion this week with a hands-on practical that followed food on its full journey through the body. Using everyday items to represent the different organs, the class recreated each stage, from chewing in the mouth to absorption in the intestines, and finally, waste! There was plenty of curiosity (and a few laughs) as pupils saw the digestive system in action.
Fantastic LAMDA Results for 2025

We’re pleased to share this year’s LAMDA (London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art) results, and it’s good news all round! Every pupil who took an exam was awarded either a Distinction or a Merit, with 73% achieving a Distinction.
This remarkable success reflects the hard work, creativity, and dedication of our students throughout the year. Whether working in groups, pairs, or individually, our LAMDA students have embraced the challenge of preparing for their examinations with enthusiasm and professionalism.
After two busy days of exams, pupils had the chance to perform their favourite pieces once more at our annual LAMDA Showcase; a relaxed and celebratory evening where families and friends could see just how far they’ve come.
We are incredibly proud of all our LAMDA students and what they have accomplished this year. Well done!

Netball Sports Tour

The sports tour last weekend was a brilliant chance for girls in Years I-III to play some brilliant competitive netball, unwind at the fair, try a little karaoke, and hit the beach!
Community Weekend

The Hall House Community Weekend featured lots of fun sports-day-style activities last weekend! Thank you to everyone who helped organise the day, and thanks to Sana for many of the photos!
