Japanese Day of the Girl
In a recent Assembly, Aoi Nishikawa, Year III gave us a presentation in Japanese about Hinamatsuri or ‘Girls’ Day’. Vivian Huang, Year V, and a member of the International Council helped and supported Aoi and gave an explanation in English. ‘Hinamatsuri’ is a celebration for girls and involves eating special types of food and displaying dolls which are handed down from generation to generation by the women of the family. Aoi showed us a picture of her dolls, back home in Japan.
It is always really interesting to learn about the different girls who make up our community here at Queen Margaret’s. Thank you Aoi and Vivian.
