Hire a conference venue in York with Queen Margaret’s School. Set within stunning grounds just outside the City of York, and with ample free parking on site, Queen Margaret’s boasts a range of flexible function rooms available to hire.

Whether you’re hosting a small, intimate function in our beautifully traditional Wenlock Library or a large conference for hundreds of delegates in our state-of-the-art Theatre or Chapel space, our Events team is on hand to create a package bespoke to your needs, from room hire to catering to on-site accomodation.

  • The Wenlock Library

The Wenlock Library is one of the original rooms within the main School building and retains many traditional features such as the ‘hidden’ servant doors and antique Mouseman furniture. With striking panoramic views onto The Terrace and the grounds beyond, this unique venue is perfect for conferences, meetings and a wide range of different events.

  • The Chapman Theatre (Centenary Building)

Seating up to 230 people comfortably, the fully-equipped Chapman Theatre provides a purpose-built conference or performance space. Technical support for sound and lighting comes as standard within the hire package, as well as overnight storage space for sets, props, costumes and musical instruments as needed.

  • St Margaret’s Chapel (Centenary Building)

St Margaret's Chapel is a customisable space that can seat approximately 400 in an assembly style, 120 cabaret-style or 100 on long tables. With an additional mezzanine level for extra seating, it is a beautiful, versatile venue for wedding receptions, conferences or simply as networking space.

  • Centenary Foyer (Centenary Building)

Whether hiring The Chapman Theatre or St Margaret’s Chapel, both spaces lead onto a beautiful glass foyer, with a purpose-built area for providing refreshments, plenty of display space and self-contained modern toilet facilities. Additional seating can be added in this space to suit requirements.
