Meritorious Service Award
QM's Head of Racquets, Mrs Mitchell has been recognised for her significant long term contribution to Tennis by the LTA.
Last summer we were thrilled to report that QM’s Head of Racquets, Karen Mitchell, had received a very special invitation to the Wimbledon Presidents’ Lunch for her services to county, club and schools Tennis and for her work as a Tennis Coach. We’re delighted to report that once again, Karen has been recognised for her significant long term contribution to Tennis, this time by being awarded a Meritorious Service Award by the LTA.
Karen is nominated for over 40 years of playing, coaching, developing coaches and players, and managing the Yorkshire County Performance Programme. At national, regional, county and club levels she has developed talented players (some becoming coaches) and inspired juniors to take up the sport. The nomination states “Karen’s contribution to performance tennis has been exceptional. Karen is a selfless and modest person who achieves success by her determination, knowledge, resilience and good nature. She leads by example, getting players and coaches to perform to their highest potential.”
