Lacrosse North Schools U15

Score: Lost 4-2

Player of the Match: Freya F

The U15s and U14 Lacrosse teams took part in the North Schools Tournament where they played against some very high-level teams including Bolton School, Withington and Moreton Hall.

The rival match vs Harrogate Ladies College proved to be the best game of the day with a closely fought match and some great goals from QM. We eventually lost 4-2 but the grit and determination from QM were outstanding.

Lacrosse North Schools U13

Player of the Match: Izzy A

Our U13 Lacrosse team took part in only their second tournament of the year on Saturday and displayed some fantastic Lacrosse.

They faced a number of schools including Withington, Bolton and Moreton Hall. With longer games and very little rest, they all played really well with plenty to take away from the day and continue to develop.

U15 B vs Queen Marys Netball

U13 Netball vs Huntington U13A and U13B

Score: U13 v U13A - lost 11-3; U13 v U13B - lost 2-0

Player of the Match: Harriet

We had zero time to prepare when we were told we had a last-minute fixture v Huntington - and against both their U13As and Bs too!

After a slow start, we managed to work as a team, though sometimes we struggled to get in front of our players. We had a solid defence with Evie, Amelia, Harriet and Tilly, while we rotated our shooters.

Overall, not a bad effort - we know we definitely need to work on our spacing and driving in front of players.

Badminton vs HLC

Player of the Match: Karis and Dora

Wednesday afternoon saw our Senior Badminton team take on rivals Harrogate Ladies College.

With 4 pairs and 4 games each, there were some close scores during the afternoon with QM losing 7-9. Well done to Audris who stepped up to join the Seniors for the afternoon and well done to Karis and Dora who won all of their matches.

Mavericks A vs Haxby 5

Score: Won 48-15

Player of the Match: Jen and Miss Kirkup

Mavericks A got off to a flying start winning the first quarter 17-3. The second quarter saw the As stuttering slightly, scoring only 8 goals. However, they pulled themselves together for the second half, scoring double figures both in the third and fourth quarters.

As always, the team’s defence played amazingly with tight marking and intercepts, turning the ball over for the counterattack. There were some brilliant linkages from the attackers, securing opportunities to go for goal.

Fabulous play from all.

Mavericks B vs RI Blizzard

Score: Lost 28-19

Player of the Match: Nusy and Miss Hudson

We started the match well with some lovely shooting, managing a huge comeback after the first quarter. Our defence was strong with some great interceptions.

Our confidence was boosted after the halftime score and we went back on court with our heads held high. Our defence became even tighter and our spacing became cleaner.

Players of the match go to Nusy for her lovely spacing and movement down the court, and Miss Hudson for her amazing inceptions in the goal circle.

Swimming v HLC

Score: Won 48-15

Player of the Match: Emilia Roberton

Our first home swimming fixture saw a large U13 team compete with some new faces joining the team for the first time. There were some excellent individual and relay swims.

Our U15 team was hit with injury, but the swimmers remained positive and a special congratulations to Emilia R for swimming up an age group for almost all of her swims.

The overall result was 110-79. Don't forget regular training sessions each week on a Thursday after lessons and Saturday morning!
