Fixture: LTA Youth League Year 7 & 8 U13B vs Fulford
Result: Lost 1-10 on the doubles shootout after drawing 6-6 on points from the rubbers

Report:
It was a very tough afternoon of tennis for the U13Bs. Between showers of rain, the Year II team made up of Betsy Budden, Una Adams, Phoebe Smith and Siena Williams put in fantastic performances despite some hiccups. Una won a well-deserved Player of the Match playing her singles long after the others on her team had finished. She battled on to a 6-6 tie-break, then went on to win her tie-break 9-7! This brought the team score to a 6-6 draw, leading to a doubles shootout. Phoebe and Una stepped up to the plate again showing great determination and team spirit. They worked so hard but ultimately lost 10-1 to a strong Fulford side. Really well done to all of the team on Tuesday.

Wednesday 4 June

Fixture: LTA Youth League U15A Year 9 & 10 vs Malton
Result: Won 8-4

Report:
A very competitive match against a good Malton School Tennis side. The doubles matches were very even, as were the majority of the singles. Emily and Bobble played 1 + 2, playing against their top pair to take a 6-4 win in that match. Both girls played well together, and with this being a new partnership, they worked on their communication and seemed to really gel by the end. They then went on to play their singles games. Emily won over their number 1 in a convincing 6-0, with Bobble losing just 4-6 against a very strong girl in the year above. The game was close and it was excellent to watch. Izzy and Heidi started off with singles matches, and both were long games and very evenly matched. Izzy’s game went to a tie-break and she managed to clinch the win through the tie-break. Heidi and her partner were battling it out to the end; the score was 5-7 to Malton in that game. Then onto doubles for Izzy and Heidi with, again, a really close match with some fantastic tennis. Izzy and Heidi looked strong and managed to secure the win 6-4. Well done to the U15 A team who have currently won all their matches in this competition. We will see what the next matches bring.
