"The Year I team were all very excited on Saturday to be heading to our netball tournament at St Peter’s. We were lucky with the weather; although the courts were a little bit slippery, it was nice and warm.

Our first match was against The Mount. We were nervous, as it was the first game, but everyone got stuck in. Mimi (GA) and Elsie (GS) scored the goals, helping us secure a 4-2 win. Abena did a brilliant job in GK, putting pressure on the shooters throughout the tournament.

Our next match was against All Saints. Feeling more confident after the win against The Mount, our team passed the ball well and scored goal after goal, securing another win, 7-1.

Our third match was against Fulford. It was a tough match, but we played well and managed to come through with a 1-1 draw.

Following that, we won against Bootham 4-2. We worked hard as a team and were pleased with the result.

Next up was Manor Academy, and we ended with another draw, 1-1.

Our toughest match came next, against Joseph Rowntree. It was a very close game, but we lost 3-2.

For our final match, we played the hosts, St Peter’s. After a long day of hard work, we were tired, and St Peter’s was a very strong team. We gave it our best but sadly lost 9-1.

Despite the losses, we played very well together, with everyone contributing. We had lots of fun and were all so happy and proud to take third place in the tournament. Mimi earned her well-deserved Player of the Tournament award for her hard work, motivation, and resilience throughout the day."

Wednesday 26 March

Sport: Netball
Fixture(s): Semi-Final of York and District Kaboca League Competition
Score(s): Lost 16-13 vs Manor School
POM(s): Elsie L. & Jimena G. F.
Report:
"After working hard all term to perform in mid-week matches, the girls earned a place in the semi-final against Manor School. The netball on display was fantastic, with QM linking brilliantly through the mid-court and working really well together as a team. Elsie was shooting brilliantly from all over the D, but unfortunately, it just wasn't enough to clinch the win this time. The U14 team should be so proud of themselves with where they have come with their netball over the course of this term."
