Friday 29 November
Hockey
U15 vs GSAL 2nd Round of Independent Schools Hockey Plate Competition
Score: 6-0 Loss
POM: Izzy Anstee (IV)
On Friday QM's U15A played against GSAL, and after a long warm-up, the game started off with lots of energy. However, we quickly realised that GSAL were a very competitive team and well-prepared for the match too. With the defence trying hard to keep the attackers away there were some amazing saves from goalie Lucinda, but we struggled to keep them away and GSAL's strong shots at goal were hard to stop. There was some amazing work in our attack also, as they all worked hard to keep the ball away from GSAL's interceptions and tackles. Overall it was a very tough game but well fought and well done to the U14's who played with the team as well.

Saturday 30 November
Hockey
1st XI vs St Peter's U15A
Score: 2-2
POM: Pippa Cochran (UVI) & Celia Scott (V)
It was the last Saturday match for the First hockey team last week. It was a very tense and rewarding match. Halftime ended with the score of 1-0 to Peters, they managed to slip in an excellent goal in the last two seconds, it scraped Pippa's stick as it made contact with the top corner. However QM's Jemima + Izzy Blythe managed to get in 2 more goals in the second half, but Peters put in an unstoppable goal through an excellent short corner. Peters had many shots on goal but QM's defence turned into a brick wall. The end score being 2-2, the Players' Player of the Match is Pippa, and the Coaches' Player is Celia.

Saturday 30 November
Hockey
U13A vs Hymers
Score: 6-0 Loss
POM: Martha Whitfield (II)
On Saturday the U13A team went to Hymers to play hockey. There were plenty of highs and lows, there were times when they outplayed us and we let a few goals in but there were also times where we did amazing, showed great teamwork and even got a few shots on goal but unfortunately did not succeed in getting the ball over the line into the goal. We all tried our hardest in this match even when it was tough. For next time I think as a team we could improve on our communication when we are free or letting people know where we are and also having accurate strong passes so the other team can’t intercept the ball. Overall I think it was a really good last match and we have shown some great improvement this hockey season.

In the match, Charlotte Bentley and Charlotte Walker did amazing passes and there were so many close shots at goal by Sukmani and great defending by Abena. Suzi also took a shot and scored, Mimi made great passes to the goal followed by a great attempt at goal.

Monday 2 December
Netball
QM Mavericks B v Stamford 3
Score: Lost 59-28
POM: Emily (IV)
The last game of this half of the season saw QM Mavericks B take on Stamford 3. It looked to be a tight contest with Stamford taking the first quarter 12-9. However, the B team's miscommunication and hesitancy in their passing in the next quarters gave Stamford the turnover opportunities to seal the win.

Wednesday 4 December
Hockey
1sts vs Rishworth
Score: 7-0 Win
POM: Elsa Scott (UVI)

Wednesday 4 December
Netball
QM Mavericks A v RI Breeze
Score: Lost 22-5
POM: Mrs Burton
QM Mavericks A arrived at their away fixture against RI Breeze just as the heavens opened. With no let-up from the wind and rain, both teams and umpires agreed on shorter quarters. The score at 5-2 in favour of RI at the end of the first quarter was an indication that the rest of the game would be a stop-start one. As the A team grappled with the wet conditions to keep possession, RI pulled ahead to victory.
