Riding Success for Imogen (LVI)

Imogen and her horse Vinnie recently competed in the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Eventers Challenge qualifiers at Northallerton.

They placed 6th in the 95cm and an amazing 2nd in the 105cm, therefore qualifying for the national championships at Hickstead in May. Very well done and good luck with your upcoming riding!

Fantastic Lacrosse Success Beyond QM

Super Counties Tournament

Several girls were invited to trial and train for the U18 + U15 Super Counties tournament, on the back of their positive performances at the county lacrosse tournaments.

On Sunday 25th February, the training and trial took place at Withington Girls' School. We are delighted to announce that Olivia B (LVI) has been selected to be part of the North U18 B team for the tournament.

Issy A (III), Issy B (IV), Issy R (IV), and Celia (IV) have all been selected to play in the North U15 B team.

Stay tuned for more information on this, as well as details of the players, in the lead-up to the tournament which will be held at Moreton Hall on Sunday 17th March.

Scotland Lacrosse

Elsa and Celia competed in the Rose Bowl tournament at Loretto on Saturday 24th March, and both played very well! This tournament is part of their training for exciting upcoming events.

Elsa will soon travel to Florida on tour with the U20s in April. She is part of the Performance Squad and hopes to be selected for U20s Scotland for the Lacrosse Home Internationals in April.

Celia is part of the Scotland U20s Development Squad and aims to be selected for the Lacrosse Festival at the Home Internationals this April.

Both teams faced some tough opposition on Saturday but improved with each quarter and worked hard on their accuracy and decision-making when in possession.

Tuesday 27th February 2024

Fixture: QM Mavericks A vs. RI Eclipse

Score: Lost 44-29

POM (Player of the Match): Miss Burton

Report:
QM Mavericks A started strong against RI Breeze, who are second in the league. With only three goals separating the two teams after half-time, the A team knew it was going to be a competitive second half. As Mavs started to make a few errors in the third quarter, RI took advantage to win the game with ease.

Wednesday 28th February 2024

Fixture: QM Mavericks B vs. Stamford 2

Score: Lost 38-22

POM (Player of the Match): Miss Cheng

Report:
First game back after the half-term break saw QM Mavericks B take on Stamford 2. At halftime, the B team was up by one goal. The Bs predicted a tough second half and lost a bit of momentum when Stamford pulled ahead in the third quarter. Despite Mavs’ valiant attempt in the last quarter, it was Stamford who were victors. Unlucky Bs!
