Caroline Bayliss

Queen Margaret's Board of Governors. (Education Committee).

Caroline Bayliss was educated at Felixstowe College and Moreton Hall School and read Politics and Economics at York University. After graduating, Caroline joined the Metal Box Company as a trainee and progressed to being the Marketing Manager for New Product Developments. She is married and lives near Harrogate, she has two grown up children, both of whom live and work in London. Her daughter Alice left QM in 1998. Caroline is Chairman of Visit Harrogate and Vice-Chairman of the North of England Horticultural Society. She has been a Harrogate Borough Councillor since 1983 and her various roles have included Cabinet Member for Sport, Tourism and Culture, Chair of Human Resources and Mayor of the Borough of Harrogate in 2005/2006. She is a past Chairman of Harrogate Theatre and has served on the Arts Council. In her spare time Caroline enjoys bridge, gardening and going to the theatre. Caroline served as Chairman of the Board between July 2016 and July 2021.

Pupils’ knowledge, skills and understanding across all areas of learning are excellent. Teachers have high expectations and strong subject knowledge, and they use this expertise effectively to help pupils improve their work.
