Both Sides of the Mirror
Over 50 girls performed in the Dance Show, Both Sides of the Mirror, a collection of work based on the idea of a dancer practising in front of the mirror before stepping through for the performance. With Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, Tap and Hip Hop on display, the show took audiences on a journey through the mirror.
Congratulations to all the dancers involved in the show. From beautiful pointe work, intricate choreography and elegant lines to exciting Tap routines, every girl shone and should be extremely proud of herself.
The inspiration behind the theme came from the concept that as a dancer a lot of time is spent in front of a mirror, correcting, checking and improving. Then you step away from the mirror; out of the studio and onto the stage; a graduation to performance level. Through life there are still mirrors to practise in front of and doors to walk through so the mirror depicted the dream and the doors, one a fantasy and the other a reality.
