A QM Hit – West Side Story
The spectacular production of West Side Story came to QM last week and the cast definitely demonstrated that they ‘liked to be in America’… 1950s New York that is. The strong cast felt very much at home with the hard-hitting storylines, beautiful choreography and the complex Leonard Bernstein score. The partnership of Georgina Deri, UVI and Emily Wallace, LVI was inspired with their truthful interpretations of the roles of Tony and Maria that perfectly captured the combination of strength and vulnerability in their characters. They led a talented cast and crew who have clearly been working hard to produce such a fantastic show. A special mention must also go to the five QM girls who joined the professional musicians in the orchestra.
