Bespoke Boarding

Whatever works for your family, works for us. Discover Bespoke Boarding from one to seven nights a week, with a set routine or something more flexible.

Bespoke Boarding at QM

We understand that every family's needs are unique. That's why we offer Bespoke Boarding options, allowing students to choose how many nights they board each week—from just 1 night to a full 7-night experience.

This flexible approach is a perfect fit for modern family life. Whether you need a regular routine or just occasional overnight stays, Bespoke Boarding ensures your child enjoys the best of both worlds—quality education and a home-like environment.

Above all, we always put our students' health, emotional well-being and development first; no matter if they’re full-boarders, flexi-boarders or day girls. It also means that we can support your busy schedules and help ease the pressures of modern life.

The Good Schools Guide says "We feel pastoral care is a real strength here. The school is small so there is no reason why every girl can't be known well." (read The Good Schools Guide Review here).

Bespoke Boarding in Practice

Four houses

QM features four boarding houses. Students live with others of their own age and have the chance to socialise across the year groups. As girls move up the school, living becomes more independent.

Always there for her

If they stay at least one night a week, our girls have their own bed that’s ready to use whenever they stay. It’s their own personal space for studying, relaxing, or hanging out with friends, where they can leave their belongings, books and sports gear.

A home from home

Our girls’ safety, well-being, and happiness is at the heart of everything we do. It’s a nurturing community with all the comforts of home, whether they’re staying for one night or seven.

Whatever works for you

That could mean full boarding, weekdays, set days, or something more flexible. We can also accommodate changes in schedules across days, weeks, or terms – whatever you need, we can help make it happen.

Taking care of our girls’ schedules

We can flex daily schedules as well as weekly schedules at short notice, meaning that impromptu nights at home/school, or varying pick-up/drop-off times are never a problem.

Take a look at the plan of the day here.

Our girls are given every opportunity

Everyone gets to thrive with the same opportunities. That means that our day girls get to enjoy the same extracurricular and social activities as full-boarders.

Empowering with independence

Our girls feel empowered by our Bespoke Boarding. It’s a taste of independence in a safe and nurturing environment.

Family time to be cherished

Our flexibility benefits everyone. Our girls have more opportunity to get involved in activities, and parents get all the support they need, meaning that time at home is quality time. It doesn’t end at the weekend Friday nights are big at Queen Margaret’s. It’s a time to have fun and build friendships that can last a lifetime. Weekend activities can mean anything from a trip to the trampoline park to visits to museums and stately homes.

A sisterhood of support

Our horizontal boarding approach means that everyone learns and boards together in one supportive year group – full- boarders, flexi-boarders and day girls. It’s what makes our girls’ experience so special, helping them to bond, form lifelong friendships and thrive. It also allows housestaff to focus on the specific needs of each year group, so they can be managed more effectively.
