Introducing the Deputy Head Girl (Wellbeing), Lauren Thompson

Deputy Head

Full boarding was completely unknown to me, but it wasn’t long until I settled in and was able to call QM my home. I am honoured to have been given the role of Deputy Head Girl Wellbeing, and to be able to work alongside such a great team.

Previously I went to Mowden Hall School in Northumberland as a flexi boarder. I then joined QM in year III and became a full boarder for the first time. For me, full boarding was completely unknown, however it wasn’t long until I settled in and was able to call QM my home.

I am currently studying Economics, Politics and Spanish at A level, as well as an EPQ in the Psychology of Politics. I intend to study a combination of these subjects at university.

I am proud to be one of the first cricket captains at QM since 1938. Although I am by no means the best of cricket players, as a new sport being introduced at QM, it felt important to be able to bring some enthusiasm and encouragement to younger girls picking up the sport.

Throughout my time at QM I have been involved in different sports teams such as hockey and netball, as well as participating in school drama productions.

One of my greatest highlights was being a part of the Queen Margaret Prince's Trust Team as Deputy Managing Director in LVI, where we ran our own business in order to raise money for the charity. This was an incredibly rewarding experience in which I managed to gain a range of new skills.

I am honoured to have been given the role of Deputy Head Girl Wellbeing, and to be able to work alongside such a great team.
