Whether she is a day girl or a boarder, and regardless of whether her interest lies in the sciences, sport or the arts, QM's individualistic approach allows each girl to carve her own path, and flourish as a formidable, independent woman.

Read about some of the individuals behind the statistics from last week's A Level results and find out about the varied and exciting steps they will be taking now that their time at QM has come to an end.

Lily, who lives locally to the school, gained an impressive 2 A* grades and an A, securing her Film Studies degree course at the University of Warwick. The Arts have played a really important role in Lily’s time at QM, she credits the small class sizes and the personal time she’s had with the teachers.

“Everyone has a place at Queen Margaret’s” says Nathene who was a full boarder at the school and is celebrating an amazing 3 A* grades. Having studied Biology, Mathematics and Psychology at A Level, she’s going on to study Biological Sciences at Imperial College, London.

Nancy says “you’d be hard pushed to find a better Sixth Form than QM”, she has loved all the extracurricular activities she’s been involved in as a Weekly Boarder. Nancy achieved a brilliant A* and 2 A grades and plans to study History at Newcastle University.

When results were released last week nearly half (49%) of all QM girls achieved two or more of the much sought-after A*-A grades. 91% of all entries scored A*-C. There were particular successes in Music, Geography and Latin, with 100% of girls achieving A*-A and notable achievements at the highest level in Physics, English Literature, Fine Art and French.

Head, Sue Baillie, has commended her students for their excellent results and for being “successful, tenacious and ambitious individuals.”
