A Level Results 2021

The School is once again delighted with its 100% A Level pass rate and is especially proud that, despite the difficult circumstances they’ve endured, 97% of girls achieved or exceeded their ALIS (A Level Information System) targets.

QM students had to study for their A Levels remotely all over the globe during lockdown; be it local girl, Gabriella, from York, who achieved three A* grades (plus an A* in her Extended Project Qualification) and has secured a place to study Psychology at the University of York; or Jane, who spent lockdown in China and secured four A* grades and one A, and will go on to study Physics at UCL. During the national school closures, QM very quickly introduced a robust online platform - QM Connect - so the girls could continue their studies at home. Their results are testament to this remote learning provision, indeed, Jane attributes her results to the “outstanding efforts of teachers and staff during lockdown”.

In total, 95% of all Queen Margaret’s A Level entries gained A*-B grade (77% of entries were the highly sought after A*-A grades) enabling the girls to go on and study courses including Law, Art Foundation, Architecture and Economics and Politics at highly regarded universities like Liverpool, Edinburgh and Exeter. Flo, who has secured three A* grades and will go on to study Behavioural Science at Durham University, credits the support she received; “The teachers and staff at QM have been absolutely amazing in helping us all navigate the world of online learning and the support they’ve given us academically, and in terms of our wider wellbeing, has been unparalleled”. The School believes its individual approach to teaching has helped the girls on their way to life after Sixth Form.
