Stay In For Leave Out

After a long journey to London on Friday, we arrived at around 8 pm at our hostel which was incredibly close to St Pauls's Cathedral.
We headed to our restaurant where we had a lovely 2-course meal, then back to the hostel to sleep.
We woke at 9 am ready and raring to go. After a hearty breakfast, we headed to Soho for a spot of retail therapy, everywhere was so beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations and you could certainly feel the Christmas spirit.
After a few hours, we headed on a mile-long walk to Buckingham palace which created the perfect photo opportunities.
It was then a short walk to the theatre where we watched Wicked. With songs still stuck in our heads, we headed back on the coach and explored Covent Garden. Now dark, the whole area looked very festive and it was great to see some of the live acts around Covent Garden.
We all met back together for some tasty pizzas before heading back to the hostel for a well-earned rest - everyone was exhausted from such a busy fun day!
A slightly earlier wake-up on Sunday meant it was time to go to Winter Wonderland! Getting in just as it opened, the girls got to enjoy 4 hours there. The ice slide was a great hit with even some staff getting to have a go. We had a walk around the magical Ice kingdom and then the girls got some free time to go on rides and eat some yummy food.
After another morning of fun, it was time to head back to school. On Monday, some girls decided they still hadn't shopped enough, so they headed into York. Others were exhausted from the weekend and spent the day relaxing, whilst the rest made some delicious cookies in the food room. The weekend was finished off with a tasty Wagamamas before heading back to the boarding houses.
A big shout-out must go to our coach Erwin who gave us a mini tour around London sharing useful facts about London's history. Also a big thank you to all the staff who came along on the trip!
