Chinese Mid Autumn Festival

Weekend Activity

Published 5th October 2021

Last Tuesday was the Chinese Mid Autumn Festival, so we held some activities for the girls in school at the weekend.

The Mid Autumn Festival (also called Moon Festival or Mooncake Festival) is one of the important festivals for Chinese people all over the world. It is based on the belief that the moon is at its brightest and fullest size at this time of year, coinciding with harvest time in the middle of Autumn.

On Friday, the kitchen team did an amazing job making a Chinese-style meal for supper. Then on Saturday and Sunday, the girls made some lanterns and watched a Chinese film while having the mooncakes, pumpkin pancakes, and chocolate chip cookies made by girls in Year V, LVI, and UVI.

Everyone enjoyed the cheerful parties and delicious food. HAPPY MID AUTUMN FESTIVAL to everyone!
