Hockey
U18 vs Ampleforth
Result: 2-2 Draw
POM: Lucy C. (LVI)
On Saturday 9th November, we played Ampleforth College, and it was a tough game. Despite not having all our players, the team really played amazingly and showed incredible sportsmanship. The final score was a 2-2 draw, which was well deserved, and the team should be incredibly proud of the hard work they put into the game. Thank you to all the parents who came out and supported us, and we hope to see you at the next game.

Hockey
U15 vs Ampleforth
Result: 3-2 Win
POM: Amelia B. (IV)
On Saturday 9th, QM U15s played against Ampleforth in a hockey match. It started off well, with us getting the first goal early, followed by two more later on. The whole team played extremely well, with lots of enthusiasm and energy. The final score was 3-2 to QM.

Hockey
U14 vs Queen Mary's
Result: 0-5 Loss
POMs: Maddie B. (III), Emilia R. (III), Keiana C. (III), Bobble P. (III)
The U14 girls faced some tough opposition on Saturday at Queen Mary's. The final score did not necessarily reflect the match overall, with possession being quite even throughout. The defence was kept busy but showed good resilience and determination. Lucinda O’G, as goalie, made some great saves and really helped to keep the final score down. The attack had some great leads from midfield, and although they unfortunately didn’t convert into goals, there were some very close shots from the forwards. Overall, it was a great performance from everyone on the pitch, especially with all players having to play a full match! (Emilia R. (III))

Hockey
U13A vs Terrington & Queen Mary's
Results:
vs Terrington: 1-1 Draw
vs Queen Mary's: 2-2 Draw
POMs: Martha W. (II)
On Saturday, we played two away matches, one against Queen Mary's and one against Terrington. We were very pleased to come away with two draws: 1-1 and 2-2. We have improved on our passing and also our defending and clearing from our D. We were really pleased with our results but are hoping that we can start to finish more of our shots on goal in future. We need to remember to follow our shots on goal and also practice our short corner options. Well played to all of our team – everybody worked so well together and fought hard for our results.

Hockey
U12A vs Terrington & Queen Mary's
Results:
vs Terrington: 2-3 Loss
vs Queen Mary's: 1-1 Draw
POMs: Nattida C. (I), Suzi S. (I)
Everyone played amazingly on Saturday. Against Queen Mary's, we drew 1-1. Our goals were scored by Mimi O. and Suzi S., and our player of the match was Suzi S. In our next match, we played Terrington and unfortunately lost 3-2. Our goals were scored by Mimi O. and Nattida C., and our player of the match was Nattida C. Both games were great, and we all had fun. Some of the scores were unfortunate, but we had a brilliant time. (Suzi S.)

Netball
QM Mavericks B vs Sherburn Lunars
Result: Won 51-47
POMs: Emily (IV)
QM Mavericks B went up against another local rival, Sherburn Lunars. A great first half by the B team, going up by 11 goals. However, in the third and fourth quarters, Lunars stepped up a gear to win both quarters. Luckily, the cushion at the half meant the Bs held on – just – for the win.

13/11/2024
Hockey
1sts vs Tranby
Result: 1-0 Win
1sts vs St Peter's 3rds
Result: 3-0 Win
POMs: Celia S. (V), Jemima P. (V)

Hockey
2nds vs St Peter's 4ths
Result: 2-4 Loss
POM: Jeannie Y. (V)
The 2nd hockey team played extremely well in their second match. Everyone got stuck in and showed some great hockey skills and determination. We managed to score 2 amazing goals to finish with a score of 2-4, which is a big improvement from our last match. Everyone played so well and I want to give a special mention to player of the match Jeannie, who managed to score an amazing goal. Well done, everyone, you should be so proud of yourselves! (Emily O'G. (V))

Netball
QM Mavericks A vs RFM 1sts
Result: Lost 11-66
POM: Tilly (UVI)
On a chilly evening, QM Mavericks A travelled to York to play RFM 1sts. Despite some good team play, the As were unable to match the opposition's level of intensity. Unlucky A team.

Staff vs Students Hockey 2024

Stylistically sandwiched somewhere between Halloween and Christmas, this week’s annual QM Staff vs Students Hockey match brought a colourful mix of pumpkins, reindeer, witches, Santas, and even an octopus to the pitch! It was a blend of spooky and festive fun, with plenty of laughs, excitement, and critical commentary. The staff team had an extra reason to celebrate, claiming a 1-0 victory!

QM Tennis Coach to Take on Double Marathon Challenge for Charity

We are excited to share that our tennis coach, Jamie Costa, will be taking on an impressive challenge this spring, running two marathons in just two weeks! Jamie will be participating in both the London and Leeds marathons to raise funds for Whizz-Kidz, a charity that provides essential services for young wheelchair users.

Whizz-Kidz helps children access the equipment, skills, and confidence they need to thrive. Jamie has seen the incredible impact of this charity firsthand, as friends have greatly benefited from its support.

“By donating to my marathon efforts, you’ll not only support me in a personal challenge but also contribute to a meaningful cause. Every donation will help make a real difference to those in need, transforming my miles into a journey of hope and positive change. Help me cross the finish line (twice) with purpose!”
