U15 Lacrosse vs Harrogate Ladies College and Withington

  • Score: 10-1 W vs HLC, 7-6 W vs Withington
  • Players of the Match (POM): Izzy Anstee (III), Sofia Vilela-Sowersby (IV)

Report: Straight off the bus and onto the pitch, the U15s got stuck in against HLC immediately. They dictated play from the start and hustled hard to keep possession throughout the match, winning nearly every draw. The girls used each other well and worked the ball around, picking the perfect moments to get their shots off. This resulted in a fantastic win, well-deserved, with nearly every attacking player getting a goal. A great start to prepare them for the tougher opposition of Withington.

The U15s didn't start as strong against Withington but quickly got into their groove. With a more physical side, they used their tactical brains well and played some very mature lacrosse, knowing when to slow down and when to take the strong side on. QM came back from being 2 down with a scoreline of 6-4 to secure the win with some great team play and lovely settled attacks. A great day of lacrosse.

U14 Lacrosse vs Harrogate Ladies College & Withington

U13 Lacrosse vs Harrogate Ladies College & Withington

U12 Lacrosse vs Withington

  • Score: 1-8 L vs Withington
  • Player of the Match (POM): Sophia Harrison (I)

Report: Our U12s were thrown into the deep end with one of their first lacrosse fixtures this term. The girls fought fantastically, showing great resilience and bravery on the pitch when playing a very feisty team and sport! This led to lots of opportunities on goal, and a goal was won through some great teamwork and determination. The scoreline does not reflect the effort put in by our Year 1s and some very supportive Year 2s who are also quite new to the sport. A big well done on getting stuck in and working really well together on Saturday.

QM Mavericks A vs. Northern Storm

  • Score: Lost 27-24

Report: QM Mavericks A faced off against old rivals Northern Storm, who secured the top spot in Division 2 last season by defeating the A team. True to the pattern of past encounters, Northern Storm elevated their performance in the final quarter to clinch the victory, albeit by a narrow margin of three goals. A highly competitive game!

QM Mavericks B vs. RI Blizzard

  • Score: Lost 58-51
  • POM: Miss Hagan

Report: QM Mavericks B had a promising start, winning the first quarter 17-13 against the seasonally aptly named RI Blizzard. The Bs showcased fantastic connecting play and movement. As the game progressed, it was even stevens after halftime, setting the stage for an intense second half. However, the B team experienced a setback in the third quarter, succumbing to the typical '3rd quarter syndrome,' allowing RI Blizzard to seize the lead. Despite a valiant effort by the Bs in the final quarter, RI Blizzard held on to secure the victory. A commendable effort from the Bs.
