2022 A Level Results

Queen Margaret’s Head, Sue Baillie, has spoken of her admiration for students receiving their A Level results at the school today. She commented; “I am hugely proud of the achievements of all our students in this year's A Level examinations. After the most challenging of years they have been rewarded with grades which enable them to pursue their dreams.”

Our students have, this morning, achieved excellent A Level results despite being dealt the most difficult of hands. Having not sat their GCSE examinations due to the pandemic, their A Levels were the first external examinations this cohort have ever sat. Their grades are a fitting reward for a very kind and courageous group of girls.

Nearly half (49%) of all girls achieved two or more of the much sought-after A*-A grades. 91% of all entries scored A*-C. There were particular successes in Music, Latin and Geography with 100% of girls achieving A*-A and notable achievements at the highest level in Physics, English Literature, Fine Art and French.

The results will see the QM girls go on to pursue their very individual passions, many at prestigious Russell Group universities such as Bristol, Durham and Edinburgh, and some overseas as they stretch their wings to the USA. There are future lawyers, biomedical scientists, historians, fashionistas, environmental scientists and film producers amongst the leaving year group - each girl’s time at the school has been a real celebration of her individuality.

Mrs Baillie continued “QM girls are much more than the grades they attain, they are successful, tenacious and ambitious individuals and the resilience they have shown under unprecedented conditions is remarkable, they are an inspiration to us all.”
