Elsa Selected to Represent Her Country
Published Thursday 31st March 2022.
At just 15 years old, QM girl Elsa (Year IV) has successfully been selected to represent her country when Scotland hosts England, Wales, Germany and the Czech Republic at the Lacrosse Home Internationals in Edinburgh this April.
Elsa, who first picked up a Lacrosse stick when she joined QM aged 11, has been chosen to play in Scotland's Junior Women's A Squad.
The official trials for the Scotland team have taken place during their last two training weekends; after the first weekend the extended squad was announced and then after the second weekend the A and B squads were decided. With over 60 girls trialling, Elsa is quite rightly delighted with her place on the A team.
Elsa balances her training schedule with her school commitments - she has been training every other weekend to prepare for the Home Internationals and, in between this, she quite often has matches with her club and the QM team too. Elsa can also often be found at the QM Lacrosse Club getting some extra practice in, or in the school's Cardio Suite.
The Home Internationals Tournament will span three days in April and will take place at the Peffermill Playing Fields; the sports pitches for Edinburgh University.
