Endurance Horse Riding Success for Isabella (Year IV)

Queen Margaret’s School is thrilled to share the incredible achievements of one of its outstanding students, Isabella, who spent the Easter holiday participating in three gruelling endurance races and emerging victorious on multiple fronts.

The first leg of her competition took place at the 100km FEI 1-star race in Saint Aulaye, France, where Isabella secured a commendable 10th position out of 36 participants. This performance earned her the qualification to partake in the prestigious FEI 3-star race with her horse Elbayad.

The next stage was set in Ademuz, Spain, for the 160km FEI 3-star race, where Isabella claimed the 14th spot out of 48 competitors. This performance led the China Team to secure 3rd place overall, establishing her as the team's leader due to her brilliant result.

She then journeyed to Ademuz, Spain, competing in the 140km FEI 3-star event and achieving an incredible 3rd place finish. This result means Isabela was the first individual in China, as well as globally among young riders, to complete two FEI 3-star races within 48 hours—an extraordinary accomplishment given the challenging finish rates typical of endurance races.

Isabella has now qualified for the world championship for adults - an incredible achievement. With aspirations set on participating in the world championship, she eagerly anticipates the forthcoming updates on her FEI points, having already achieved a remarkable standing as the third-ranked rider in China and the 11th in the world among young riders in the recent FEI ranking updates.

We wish her the very best of luck in her continued success.

QM Sisters Representing Scotland Lacrosse

The Scott sisters showcased their talent during the Easter holiday, representing Scotland at the Home Internationals Lacrosse Tournament from the 5th to the 7th of April. The tournament, hosted at Cardiff University, provided an excellent setting and surface for the teams competing at this high-level event.

The Scott sisters both represented Scotland, with Elsa playing for the U20 team in three games against England, Wales, and Germany. Meanwhile, Celia joined the U18 Festival, facing teams from the South East of England, North of England, Wales, and Ireland.

The Scotland U20 team secured a respectable 3rd place in their tournament, notably defeating Germany. Elsa's performance stood out with goals scored in two of the three matches and impressive skills demonstrated in both attack and defense. One highlight moment saw Elsa make a crucial defensive play before transitioning into a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper, showcasing her composure and precision in scoring, much to the delight of the enthusiastic Scottish supporters in the stands.

Celia - playing at U18 level despite being aged under 15 - contributed very well to her team's efforts against tough opposition. While the Scotland U18 team didn't secure many victories, the experience gained was invaluable, including Celia earning her first B Team Cap for Scotland—an achievement worth celebrating.

Former QM student Imogen Cochran, now at Edinburgh University, also represented Scotland U20 alongside Elsa, reinforcing Queen Margaret’s strong presence in the tournament and highlighting the bonds formed through their shared sporting achievements.

Following the Home Internationals, the U20 team embarked on a lacrosse tour to the USA, engaging in a series of matches, training sessions, and immersing themselves in high-level lacrosse experiences. We eagerly await updates from Elsa in an upcoming Weekly Window.
