Follow the Yellow Brick Road
The Dance Department pulled out all the stops to put on a sparkling show as they took audiences along the Yellow Brick Road.
Whether they were taking the part of Dorothy, the Wicked Witch, Snowflakes or even the Emerald City, all of the cast were integral in making the performances so captivating and allowed our guests to escape on an adventure from Kansas to Oz, and awaken back at QM.
The girls demonstrated their talent and poise in a variety of Dance genres, the story truly captured their enthusiasm. Head of Dance, Alison Leadley, said “The girls really portrayed the emotion of the story through their dance, they showed real feeling”. She went on to say “The backstage camaraderie amongst the cast was so lovely, the younger girls loved having invaluable time to spend with the older girls whilst the finishing touches were put to hair, make up and costumes.”
The annual Dance Show is a true highlight in the QM calendar and one which the entire QM Family looks forward to. One parent commented before the Show; “Can’t wait! My favourite night at QM”. Some guests made their evening at QM even more special by attending the VIP Drinks Reception before the performance on Friday. As the fizz flowed they enjoyed canapés prepared by the Sixth Form girls who are studying for their Leiths Basic Certificate in Food and Wine.
