Dance Dinner 2023

The annual Dance Department dinner took place on Tuesday and 54 girls gathered to partake in a wonderful evening. We created a selfie booth for the occasion, so the girls all had fun dressing up and photographing themselves with the props from our Alice in Wonderland performance! The Year I girls were delighted with their top hats, everyone received a white rabbit charm, and Dance Prefect Cora gave an emotional speech, explaining how much she enjoys spending time in the dance department throughout her time at QM.

"This role has truly meant a lot to me and I have very much enjoyed it, from meeting everyone to dropping in on rehearsals/choreographing to the costume fittings and, of course, the biscuit breaks with the flamingos.

But it wasn’t just the sugar that kept everyone going or the hairspray that held it together, it was the applause after the performances from the backstage crew, the encouragement, the ‘you can do it’ speeches from one dancer to another when the nerves sometimes set in, the camaraderie, and the support behind the scenes.

A special thanks to Cassie and Darcy for ensuring nobody ever missed their cue, and to Ava and Noomi for helping manage backstage. And, of course, a huge thank you from me and all the dancers to Mrs Leadley, because the show couldn’t happen without her. Mrs Leadley’s creative ideas and support are truly what helped to make the show such a success. And one I’ll never forget."
