HOCKEY: U13 Y & D Tournament

Score: 2nd place, Lost 1, Won 2

Player of the Match:

  • Most Improved: Polly W (Year I)
  • Coach's Player: Louise B (Year I)
  • Player's Player: Izzy A (Year II)

The girls had been preparing for weeks for the last fixture of the hockey season and their first taste of 11-a-side hockey as a team.

On a very wet and windy day, the girls worked hard in many different positions. The first challenge was Tadcaster Grammar and unfortunately, we were still asleep on the coaching conceding a short corner and then a 1-0 defeat.

The girls came back fighting and managed a win against Joseph Rowntree in the next match. Finally, in the last match of the day, Louise managed to slip one past the Fulford goalkeeper, but it was too late as Tadcaster took the first-place position.

An unlucky finish to the day but looking forward to next year and some more full-pitch Hockey.

BADMINTON: Senior Badminton vs Bootham

Score: 3-3

Player of the Match: Eunice (LVI)

There was some intense yet fun badminton matches against Bootham last Wednesday. While they have 2 pairs, we have 3; however, all of the players were able to play at least one match with each team. Mrs Mitchell organised this wonderful competition for our players and took care of them during the matches. Overall, we came away with a 3-3 draw. (report by Athena)

Mavericks B vs Stamford Vikings

Player of the Match: Harriette (LVI)

With a team photo before the game, Mavericks B was in high spirits to get their final fixture going. The first half saw some impressive interceptions from our circle defenders, Harriette and Amanda. In the second half, as always, the opposition stepped up a gear to seal the win. Overall, a good effort from the Bs this season... especially against some tough opposition.
