Badminton

Senior Badminton vs Harrogate Ladies' CollegeLost 6-10
Report by Ninan Purnananda
On Wednesday, we played a fixture at Harrogate Ladies' College. It was a great opportunity to improve our skills by competing against players from a different school that we hadn't faced before. We not only made new friends but also learned new techniques from them. This was the first match for the U15 girls, and it went really well.

Netball

2nds vs TranbyWon 15-8
Player of the Match: Issy B
Report by Maisie B (LVI)
On Wednesday afternoon, we played Tranby with debuts to the team and high morale. We started strong, ending the first quarter with an 8-0 lead. The second and third quarters went smoothly, with some incredible goals from Celia and Amelie, as well as fantastic defending from Yiting. In the fourth quarter, Tranby fought hard for a comeback, but we held our ground. The final score was 15-8 to us, and the Player of the Match was Issy B.

Netball

QM Mavericks B vs Stamford 3Won 63-45
Player of the Match: Emily (IV)
The first of a QM Mavericks double bill saw the B team take on Stamford 3. In the last two encounters, both teams had won one match each, so this was expected to be a tight contest. The Bs took the lead 15-10 after the first quarter, with a team talk at the break focusing on keeping possession and scoring from our centres. This proved successful, as Mavericks B worked together to seal the win. Great teamwork!

Lacrosse

U15 & U13 North Schools Lacrosse Tournament

  • U13s – 7th Place
  • U15s – 6th Place

On Saturday, QM hosted the annual U15 & U13 North Schools Lacrosse Tournament. This tournament rotates between QM and Moreton Hall, and this year it was our turn to host. Both tournaments had eight teams entered, with QM entering a team into each.

We welcomed Fettes and Loretto from Edinburgh, Withington, Harrogate Ladies' College, Bolton School, Birkenhead School, Moreton Hall, and Packwood School. It was fantastic to have so many schools attending, with all four lacrosse pitches buzzing with games.

Both our U13 and U15 teams played well against tough opponents, learning a lot and continuing to enjoy their lacrosse journey. Well done to the U13s, who are building on their knowledge of the game, and congratulations to the U15s for their impressive progress throughout the day. Their teamwork and determination were commendable, securing good wins against HLC and Loretto and delivering strong performances in other matches.

The next North Schools Lacrosse Tournament will be at Moreton Hall for the U12s and U14s on Saturday 1 March. We look forward to another fantastic day of lacrosse and hearing how they get on.
