Pink - Lost 6-1; Yellow - Lost 5-0

The U12s had their first Netball match of the season playing in the York and District League. Fulford was a tall team who made use of their height to win the match 6-1. The score, however, does not credit the hard work and determination on the court. It was a good first game to see combinations working together. Next up was the Yellow team, who worked their socks off to compete against Fulford, who had moved several players around to play other positions as they only came to the match with 10 players. The Yellow team worked tirelessly throughout the game, losing 5-0. Although both teams lost, there are lots of opportunities to play over the coming term. Well done to Nattida, Mimi, and Thembi on being voted MVP by the opposition.

QM Mavericks A v RI Eclipse

The second QM Mavericks fixture saw the A team take on RI Eclipse. In their previous encounter, the A team played well but was outplayed by an experienced team. With more games under their belts and a confident win from last week, the As were expecting an even contest. However, RI gained a massive lead in the first quarter, leaving the Mavericks with too much work to do for the rest of the game. A valiant effort from the A team.

QM Mavericks B v Sherburn Lunars
Won 49-38

In the first of a QM Mavericks double-header, the B team hosted another local rival, Sherburn Lunars. A game of two halves, as the Bs stormed ahead after two quarters. However, in the second half, the B team lost momentum, which allowed Sherburn to pull it back slightly. In the end, the Mavericks did well to hold on for the win.
