Group Rounders Fixtures vs GSAL

U12 Rounders vs. GSAL

Score: Lost 18-13

POM: Lola

Report:

This was our first competitive rounders match of the year. Thank you to all the parents for their support whilst enjoying the sunshine. The girls quickly adapted to the tactics and made some good decisions in our second innings.

U13 Rounders vs. GSAL

Score: Lost 8.5 - 5.5

POM: Louise

Report:

There was some excellent fielding from both teams which meant it was hard to score full rounders.

U14 Rounders vs. GSAL

Score: Won 13.5 - 7

POM: Izzy and Harriet

Report:

The U14 team had an amazing game against GSAL. With some excellent fielding, they soon got all of GSAL's players out, restricting them to just 2.5 rounders after the first innings. We followed this up with some excellent batting. Despite some impressive play by GSAL in the second innings, QM kept their cool and took the overall win 13.5 to 7.

U15 Rounders vs. GSAL

Score: Lost 12.5 - 10

POM: Poppy and Jemima

Report:

The U15 team started by fielding. GSAL had some impressive hitters and soon started scoring, with a total of 6 rounders. QM then came to bat. After a few mistakes, some of our big hitters were out, but the team managed to stay in, scoring 5 rounders. Down by one, and after a change of fielding tactics, QM came back strong but were unable to beat GSAL, missing out by 2.5 rounders.

U12 St Peter's Tennis Festival

Report:

The U12 team of Sophia, Jasmine, Lola, Martha, Betsy, Faith, Venus, and Paris went to the St Peter's Tennis Festival to compete against St. Peter's, Wakefield Girls High School, Pocklington, and The Grammar School at Leeds.

A doubles festival with plenty of court time and lots of different matches, meeting new players to enhance our students' play, scoring, and etiquette on the tennis court. It was a delight to see how focused our players were and the enjoyment they gained from the matches. There were over 20 pairs in the festival, and congratulations to Lola and Martha who came 3rd overall. Well played all, and thank you to Miss Kilburn.
