SIFLO (Exeat) - Winter 2023

Stay In For Leave Out

Published 1st December 2023

As students departed for the extended Leave Out weekend (Exeat), a spirited cohort of girls remained at school for our exhilarating SIFLO (Stay In For Leave Out) programme!

Miss Bale (Acting Housemistress, Winnie's) told us more...

On Friday, we had a relaxing day, ready for the busy weekend ahead. Some students decided to get some treats on the trip to Tesco, while others stayed at school, watched a movie, and had dog cuddles with Winnie. We had a delicious Thai takeaway and then did some painting and watched more movies in the evening.

Saturday, we all got on the minibuses and went to Blackpool. With some carpool karaoke courtesy of Miss Bale and Miss Halliwell, the journey soon whizzed by. We had a bit of free time to go and get lunch, then we watched Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, the musical, which was fantastic. We then went out for an all-you-can-eat buffet meal. There was so much choice; most of us didn’t know where to start! The day didn’t end there; we then walked along the promenade and got to see some of the Blackpool illuminations. After a mile-long walk, we headed to the buses to the hotel for the night.

Sunday was another jam-packed day. We headed to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, where we got to go on lots of rides, and some of us got to ice skate too. Thankfully, we were very lucky with the weather! Sunday evening, we enjoyed a meal at a local pub before returning back to the hotel, all exhausted!

On Monday, a long lie-in was certainly welcomed. While we waited for everyone, some very competitive UNO games were played. We all enjoyed a final delicious breakfast at the hotel before checking out and going back to Blackpool centre for a couple more hours of shopping/UNO playing before heading back to school. A big thank you must go to Phill for joining us on the trip and driving us around Blackpool, along with all the other staff who made it so much fun!
