UVI (Upper Sixth Form) - distinct, unique independent living

The Cottages

The Cottages, which house our Upper Sixth Form girls, are distinct, situated in terraced cottages which scatter what looks like a typical village street.

Life in The Cottages offers a much greater degree of independence, helping girls to develop a more mature approach to study and communal living. Whilst offering independent living, there are still routines and structures in place to help girls get the most out of their time at QM and remain focussed as they gear up for the final demands of A Levels.

Girls have a wide range of activities to keep them busy on weekends.

At weekends, there are a wide range of activities to give some much needed down time. Whether pamper afternoons, chilled out evenings in ‘Cellars’, the onsite social hub or trips into York to go shopping or visit the theatre, cinema or restaurants, girls can allow themselves some much needed ‘me’ time.

You can find out more about our boarding houses here.

Boarding makes a particularly strong contribution to pupils' social development: they build strong supportive relationships with fellow boarders that sustain them during their time at School.
