Raspberry Pi Magazine – Success For Year III Girls
Three Year III QM girls were officially recognised by Raspberry Pi magazine in this month’s edition. The feature highlights the heart-rate monitor project, developed by Elena Lardies Lopez, Harriette Pemberton and Myrtle Morley during their Raspberry Pi classes.
During their learning of ‘Physical Computing with the Raspberry Pi’, the girls learnt about connecting electronic devices and controlling them from a Raspberry Pi. Focussing on combining two pHATs (the Enviro pHAT and the Scroll pHAT HD), the girls developed a fairly sophisticated heart rate monitor. They were commended for demonstrating project originality and creativity along with teamwork, problem-solving and presentation skills.
The MagPi is the official Raspberry Pi magazine with an established global audience. Packed full of Pi-themed projects, computing and electronics tutorials, how-to guides, and the latest community news and events, the monthly magazine is well respected in the computing sector.
Well done girls and thanks to Mr Witts, Director of Digital Strategy!
