Model United Nations Conference
Ten QM students recently travelled to Shropshire to take part in the inaugural Shrewsbury School Model United Nations conference. It proved to be a very enjoyable weekend of debate and diplomacy and a most rewarding experience for those taking part. QM’s delegations represented Germany and Australia with the students acting as diplomats serving on a wide variety of UN committees. The quality of debate was excellent with a stimulating atmosphere created in each of the committees. Although it was very competitive, the debates were also conducted in good humour and in a friendly spirit. A range of schools took part in the event which provided the opportunity for the girls to meet and make friends with delegates from as far afield as Frankfurt International School.
Congratulations should go to Daisy Hopkinson, UVI, for winning the prestigious prize of Best Delegate Award in the Human Rights Committee. This was a marvellous achievement for Daisy who clearly gained the respect of her fellow delegates and was a very worthy winner.
