Emily Secures Place in England Lacrosse U19 National Academy
Talented sportswoman and Year V QM girl, Emily Hope, has successfully secured her place in the England Lacrosse U19 National Academy, aged just 15 years old.
Emily has been playing in the North of England Academy for nearly a year and her national selection came after she played in a tournament involving all of the regional academies during the Easter holidays. The tournament was watched by selectors who were there to choose the most promising talent to trial at a national level.
Emily completed the two day trial in Oxfordshire in July which involved lots of drills, fitness assessments and match play. Her highlight of the trial was getting to play against the American U19 team, who she says were a very good team. Emily went on to tell us, “the whole weekend was an amazing experience, especially being taught by coaches from the women’s England Lacrosse team. I am very excited to see what opportunities my selection will bring”.
Emily had a nervous two week wait before finding out that she had been selected for the U19 National Academy. Her training involves four residential stays at Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire between now and March. Many congratulations Emily!
