Athletics results for weekending 17th May 2013.

Independent Schools (Years 1-4)

The girls did very well considering we had weakened teams with many Year lll girls having to compete in the Year lV age group.

The following girls won their events:

Keziah Austin – Javelin
Emilia White – 200m
Daisy Douglas –Miller – 200m (for the year above!)

Overall the years came in the following places:

U12 – came 5th out of 11 schools
U13 – came 6th out of 13 schools
U14 – came 2nd out of 13 schools
U15 – came 7th out of 14 schools

York and District Trials (Years 2-4)

Lots of girls competed to try out for the York and District Athletics teams. The following girls came 1st or 2nd in their event and so are likely to be representing the District on the 8th June in their events:

Junior Girls:

Track and Field Cup – 1st round (Years 1-4)

The Junior team (Years l and ll) and Intermediate team (Years lll and lV) competed in the 1st round of the Track and Field Cup – a National competition run by the ESAA.

Students were restricted to 2 events from different categories with only 12 athletes allowed in each team which can make it difficult in terms of selection.

The girls worked exceptionally hard in all events, and the following girls received 15+ points (out of a possible 28 points) which is a great achievement and so deserve to be noted:
