Please don’t ask…I am fine.

As part of her EPQ (Extended Project Qualification), Cherry Yeung, LVI, has recently produced an excellent piece of work on Schizophrenia entitled ‘Schizophrenia: please don’t ask…I am fine.’ As part of her project Cherry has chosen to raise money for BasicNeeds, an international non-government organisation working to improve the lives of people with mental illness and epilepsy. She will be raising money by designing and selling a range of bags.

Cherry says; “my aim is to raise people’s awareness of mental illness, and stop discrimination and stereotyping of individuals with mental illness by giving them support. There is a finding that one in every four people suffers from mental illness, and most of these people are afraid to speak about their illness. I want to change the culture of this topic and make it nothing to be ashamed of to speak about mental health”.

Cherry has designed tote bags and drawstring bags to sell, with all funds raised going to BasicNeeds. If you would like to purchase any of these wonderfully designed bags or make a donation to support BasicNeeds, please contact Claire Rhodes, Teacher of Psychology by emailing crhodes@queenmargarets.com.
