18th Annual Junior Schools’ Sports Tournament

Last Friday we welcomed 129 girls from 11 different prep schools who came to take part in QM’s 18th Annual Junior Schools’ Sports Tournament. The rain held off for the majority of the day which involved a Netball Tournament and a Cross Country Event. It was fantastic to see such team spirit from all of our visitors and many of the girls’ parents were courtside to support their daughters which added a real sense of occasion.

Our Year I girls were each responsible for hosting a visiting team and some also represented QM on the Netball court. The visiting girls got to experience the QM food when they had lunch with their hosts in the Dining Room, whilst the visiting parents and staff enjoyed lunch in The Wenlock Library. The day was brought to a close with a wonderful presentation ceremony in St Margaret’s Chapel with Mrs Miles announcing the day’s winners.

In the Netball tournament, The Buchan School was successful in taking the title from last year’s winners, Richmond House School. Belmont Grosvenor School also had a very successful day, they were runners up in the Netball tournament on goal difference but claimed the top spot in the Cross Country. Full results are below:
