Our aims are built around recognising each girl as an individual with her own talents and motivations and we do our best to help each girl to set goals which inspire her to exceed even her own expectations. We find that the greatest successes are achieved by those who are happy with themselves and in their environment and so we aim to provide a caring atmosphere by minimising rules and maximising opportunities and challenges.
QM girls perform brilliantly in examinations, but they enrich their performances through their high levels of participation in art, dance, drama, music and sport. Further opportunities to shine are available through the Model United Nations, the Prince’s Trust Business Challenge, the City and Guilds’ Culinary Skills course and a whole host of other clubs and societies. We believe that students benefit greatly from an all-round education and that our girls should be busy, happy and successful.
Old Margaretians take up competitive places at the country’s best universities and go on to be leaders in all walks of life. However, it is clear above all else that the strong bonds of friendship which the girls form whilst at school have such an important impact upon who they are in later life.
I hope that I will have the opportunity to meet you when I begin my Headship in September and show you everything that is achieved by the girls in our beautiful setting. In the meantime if you would like to find out more about Queen Margaret’s, please contact Acting Head Lars Fox firstname.lastname@example.org or the Admissions Department email@example.com.
With warmest wishes
Mrs Sue Baillie
