Wine Tasting Evening – Thursday 25 May

How well do you know your wines?  Can you tell a Shiraz from a Merlot, a Chardonnay from a Sauvignon Blanc? We invite you to put your knowledge and tastebuds to the test and join us for a ‘WineFor a Laugh’ tasting event being run in conjunction with Liquid Indulgence on Thursday 25 May in Wenlock Library

Over the course of the evening which will start at 18:30 guests will have the chance to enjoy a glass of ‘fizz’ on arrival before being put into teams and challenged with a wine-inspired quiz and invited to identify three white and three red wines. The answers will be revealed and the winners announced by Alan Terry from Liquid Indulgence who will then talk us through the different wines and the characteristics to look out for sharing his years of expertise. The event is expected to finish by 22:00.

Tickets for this event cost £30 and this covers the glass of fizz on arrival, 6 wines, the quiz and a light supper.  All profits from the evening will go to the QM Foundation Bursary Fund.

Places are limited and are expected to fill quickly so please book early by emailing You can either book as a team (maximum six people) or you will be placed in teams on the night.

For those travelling from a distance a special B&B rate of £85 for a double/twin room has been arranged at the Parsonage Hotel including full use of the leisure facilities and a special rate with Station Taxis for travel to/from York.

‘I very much enjoyed meeting with a selection of old, present and future parents as well as some members of staff and of course the girls. It was an extremely warm and welcoming evening.  Very well done to the girls who spoke and sang. I particularly enjoyed talking to the girls about their school experiences and their future plans for life after QM. It is so good to see that the School continues to go from strength to strength.  Oh to be young again!’ Shelagh Legget (Robson)
