Our riding school is rated 5*

Horse Riding

Whilst independent of the school, the riding school is conveniently located on campus. Recently awarded 5* in a council inspection, we offer lessons from beginner to advanced.

School Horse Riding Lessons

For equestrian boarding schools, you've come to the right place. The QM Riding School is ideally located on our campus near Red House and offers riding lessons to girls of all standards from beginner to advanced.

The lessons cover all aspects of riding, groundwork and horse husbandry. Being a horse-riding boarding school, our teaching groups are small, meaning you'll get the close attention you need to develop.

Beginners or nervous riders can also be taught individually until they are confident enough to join a group.

Livery

Our stables can accommodate up to 25 horses and ponies. This means that, if you're lucky to own your own horse, you have the option of bringing it to school to live and have lessons on.

Whether or not you own a horse, or have the option of bringing one to school, horse riding lessons are open to all students of any ability.

Horse Riding

Horse Riding

QM has a rich and successful history of riding, being home to some of England's most accomplished young equestrians.

Riding lessons are available (at an additional cost) and focus on developing girls' skills in both flatwork and jumping, with optional hacking taking place over the nearby Escrick Park Estate.

Groups are small to ensure girls get plenty of individual attention, and beginners are taught individually until confident enough to join a group. Riders who chose to bring their own horses to school are actively engaged in eventing, showjumping and dressage, as well as Pony Club games and a variety of other activities. The emphasis is on fun, but lessons provide the opportunity for riders to advance their skills in whichever disciplines they chose.

I love the vibrant, yet homely atmosphere and being able to bring my horse to School with me is a real plus!
